A vote for Sparty is a vote for Democracy
I was alerted to an ongoing tournament being held by CBS Sportsline this morning via the Rocky Mountain Area MSU Alumni club: The Most Dominant College Mascot on Earth Tourney.
CBS Went and picked out the most popular 64 college mascots, ranked and seeded them, and a voting war in the form of a March-Madness-esque tournament has been going on. Sparty was ranked as a #1 seed, of course, and has made it to the regional finals and is now facing the Cowboys of Wyoming, and currently holds a slim 52% to 48% lead over the pokes. Voting ends on the 18th, and we need to push that Spartan lead further! Click here to vote!
It's actually quite funny that these two mascots are duking it out, as Wyoming is the singular other mascot that i have much, if any, allegiance to. (They put the cowboy on their license plates, for pete's sake, so I had to endorse it with my (temporary) Wyoming citizenship whether I wanted to or not!) Of course, since Wyoming, as a state, is the physical embodiment of a slow news day, you can find stories about this little CBS contest all over the Equality State's local media and newspapers to get them to rally for their guy.. but....
It's really not a contest. Sparty won the National Mascot Championship this year, his third such championship in the last four years alone. Sorry pokes, but, even with a horse we could still crush you with our rock-hard abs. C'mon, didn't you see 300?
GO GREEN!**Update** apparently, the spartans pulled it off, but by a suuuuper slim margin, 50.something over 49.something. Whoo. Next up: Iowa State Cyclones. What's that? Birds? Yeah, we'll be ok.

Notice that my bulldogs took out those wuss Wolverines in the first round. 16 over 1 upset. Hell yeah. Go Dawgs!

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the competition is done. They had the four categories, and the Spartans are the champs of the human category.

Nope, it's Final Four time again for us Spartans. Same as usual.
Actually, anonymous, i see now that you are correct! So, we're the champs - but, sadly, of only one animal kingdom.
For the record, we would have destroyed those stupid birds. and the BYU whatever-they-ares.
