Things that make me happy
My legs are killing me, and yesterday i wasn't paying attention as i rounded a trail corner, didn't move my hands to my brakes in time, and got up close and personal to some really pretty rocks -- but i still love getting to work this way ten times more than starting an engine. As of last week, I've begun my transformation into a bike-commuter, and it's been great. I also incidentally discovered that fittingly, last week was official ride your bike to work week, which is yet another piece of evidence that the world truly does revolve around me.
2. The Lost Season Finale
So, we kissed Season 3 goodbye last night, in its pure 2 hour grandeur, and it was a pretty good and almost cathartic episode. There was all kinds of death in all kinds of forms - gunshots, hit-and-runs, drowning, and my personal favorite: harpooning. (Actually, near death by harpooning. All told, though, not a bad way to go) Now we have to wait nearly 8 months to find out what happens next... I just hope that the writers figure it out themselves by then.
3. Star Wars ad CampaignIf you fly into the airport in Orlando, these signs will greet you and attempt to get you to visit MGM studios. Seriously, these things are the best things to come out of the Star Wars franchise since... well... Return of the Jedi. (Sorry Anakin. You're a turd.)
4. Heath Ledger is the new Joker
Have ya heard? Click here for the first released shot of the former beefcake turned homicidal killer from next years film.. (warning, it's kinda creepy. But awesome.) And also here to see the savvy ad campaign for the film, fronting as a fake Harvey Dent political campaign that was apparently vandalized.... (highlight the entire page to get it...)
5. Stella Marrs cardsI saw this particular card at the Bean Cycle this week, and it humored me enough to check out the website. It's full of fun and action-minded truthiness that i think that everyone should enjoy. You should send me one!
6. Google Reader
I finally gave in and looked into using an RSS feed reader last week, and settled on Google's because it's 1. Free, 2. linked to my google homepage and 3. Free. Turns out, it's pretty much going to be one of the most time-saving tools that I'll ever use. What it basically does, is, you enter different websites that update periodically and have RSS feeds into the reader, and when said site does indeed generate new content, the reader will go and grab it for you and tell you that there is something to look at. No more running down a long long list of bookmarks, checking each individual link to see if there was something new and not remembering if you had read the old posts anyways... goodness, why did it take me so long to do this?
7. My pretty wife -All things aside, I have to say that she wins out this list - if only for her newly refined coffee-brewing ability, but also because she makes our house smell much better for living there. And also, seeing as how she hasn't really said much about her upcoming Summer or Fall plans over on her blog, but, as of today she is officially done with the Greeley public school district, and is weighing options on where to spend energy in different volunteer opportunities for the summer months -- Becaaaaaauuuse, well, actually, I'll let her explain her fall. Go to her blog and bug her.

I use Googles RSS feed reader too! I love it. All my news in one spot no matter what computer I'm using. You'd think I'd be more intune to the world though. Hmm.
oh yes. i use bloglines, since i really only keep up on blogs, but it is definitely a time saver.
"truthiness" -- good word. my favorite so far today.
and while i can't bike to my job, i do have a bike rack on my doorless, topless, windowless ride. does that count in any way?!
hehehehee
Rie, it only counts if you've recently flown from your car around a corner.
You should try it. It's fun. And you win sympathy point when you come home all bloody!
Which helps fight global warming more, the bike commute or the RSS reader?
Maybe we'll find out about Liz's epic plans this weekend, wooop!
