Oops. I'm lazy
Hey Internets, how you doing? Me? Not too bad. What did i do last weekend, over Memorial day, you ask? Well, did some driving, had some really great pizza, and did my best at tempting fate. Oh, you want a picture? Ok.
So, (ignoring that it is now the eve of the following weekend, thank you very much) last week we were quite unsure of what to do with our 3 days of governmental-blessed freedom. We were debating hiking up into the Indian Peaks wilderness, but, upon further review (further review that included leftover snow) we decided to tag along with Dylan, Ann, Mark & Kate down to Shelf Road for the weekend instead.
Click on the above links for Dylan and Kate's rendition of how the weekend went down, they do a much better job and provide more wonderful detail in what it was like to climb all around shelf road than i ever could. Basically we all stayed down at a mutual friend's Ranch, which is a few wonderful acres of land that he has spent time turning into a campground - groomed trails, firepits, outhouse and all. It was a wonderful time of climbing all day and finally inaugurating most of our gear we've compiled over the last year into their maiden camping weekend. Liz got a little sniffly on Sunday, so we were happy to make it home on Monday after catching a late lunch with some friends in Denver.
For some really great pictures, check out kate's gallery here or bounce over to some of the shots that Dylan managed to grab. Being the genius's that we are, we managed to completely forget to charge our camera before we left, and only got a few shots before she went kaput.
In some older news and notes - we got a visit from the wonderful Mr. Brian Bishop last week, and promptly took him to Lucky Joe's Tavern for happy hour pints and burger baskets. Can you tell which one of us is still in the Air Force?

On tap for this weekend: tonight liz is making spaghetti & meatballs and we'll be watching the Godfather in its entire 13 hour glory. (I've never seen it, so, i'm doing my best to become a whole person.) We have a wedding reception to attend tomorrow afternoon, I'm most likely helping a friend change his brakes after church on Sunday (Oh, right, the mini is still for sale, people! What are you waiting for?) and come Sunday night we are expecting a visit from Dylan's mom Mary, as she is in town to see the fam for a few days and is staying with us for a few nights. Also, somewhere in there, we may get a deep freezer. true story, true believer!

wait a minute...Liz married a guy who's never seen the Godfather???
can you believe dmandman gave his blessing to that???
pshh.... forgetaboudit...
What can I say? He came to me on the day of my daughter's wedding and kissed my hand? Now, if he is only ready to do the favor that require of him, when that day comes. . . .
I totally haven't seen the godfather, either. is that what my life has been missing all these years???
Wait, according to these comments I am friends with two people who have never seen The Godfather. How is that possible. I thought I was a better judge of character than that.
Anyway, if I may put in my two cents; just watch One and Two. Three never really happened. I think it is a figment of Hollywood along with Rocky V and Caddyshack 2.

I agree Dwight--skip Godfather 3 (and add the fourth Batman movie and any Jaws movie made after the first one to that list as well.)
By fourth Batman I guess you mean the one with George Clooney and I totally agree. However, I have to disagree with Jaws. The third one is worth watching only for the sheer comedic enjoyment of a horrible movie that was made to be seen in 3D and it's horrible transition to 2D cable viewing. I laugh my butt off everytime I see the giant stiff shark crash through the underwater glass.
