Doug's Bracket Challenge!

I chose to use CBS Sportsline's bracket manager, and if you've never registered with their site, you'll have to do so to play. It's worth it, though, because upon registering with them (and make sure you unclick any boxes so you don't receive any unsolicited email) you can then use the website this month to watch college basketball games live on the net for free. This has come in handy a few times in the recent years, as i have been in multiple states across the country during a spartan tournament game, and had no other way to watch. There's also a message board attached to the group, so we can indeed literally talk smack.
So, again, click here: http://dougbracket.mayhem.sportsline.com/e and register, and then join doug's bracket. THE PASSWORD IS: Spartans. Also, feel free to pass this along to anyone else you think would enjoy coming up with a bracket as well. Go Green!

Biddy Biddy Bop
Well, i have a reason that i have been silent, and i promise to get through this entire post without mentioning basketba- er, shoot. there i go again. But, to recap life of late,
- New job is going quite well, even though i really don't know exactly what i'm doing. It was easier in the Air Force, when no one really seemed to know what they were doing, but we all got paid regardless. Apparently, if i don't know what i'm doing here, the client of ours won't pay us. Odd concept.
- Got a new computer upstairs in the office in trade for the laptop last week, under account that the thing had been sent away for repairs more times than a Kia. So, what that meant, though, is that while i waited for Best Buy to make their decision, i had to sit and wait, computerless for two weeks, and then, upon getting it, began to learn of the brand of frustration that only Microsoft Vista can rue. I mean, holy crap, sure, it seems nice (a nice rip-off of OS 10, that is) and has some much needed security updates and looks a lot prettier, but, please, if you're reading this, wait til the end of this summer to upgrade. No one has written any new drivers for any of the stuff plugged into your tower underneath your desk, the security system really is as annoying as that Mac ad portrays it (you are pointing out Vista's flaws, cancel or allow? allow. You are coming to a sad conclusion, cancel or allow? allow.) and overall it just strikes me as unnecessary at the moment.
- Wisconsin and Michigan have managed to knock a lot of the wind out of my march madness fervor in the last two weeks as well (Wisconsin, as of last night, doing it twice), so i've found less reason to boast and brag in an electronic forum about beating the ferocious Northwestern Men's Basketball team. (Unless someone reads this who went to Northwestern, in which case, ahem, Wildcats Blow! How you like them apples!?) But, as will hopefully be seen in the next post that i enter, i've thrown together a bracket challenge for anyone who wants to put their best wagers for how they think the big dance will go down. I haven't decided exactly yet, but i suppose i'll probably send the winner either some wonderful Fort Collins microbrew, or maybe just some coffee. Hmm...
